NZL SAILING TEAM – REDBULL YOUTH AMERICAS CUP

The NZL Sailing Team are powered by Leppin Sport nutrition and aiming to defend the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup in Bermuda in June 2017. Up to 16 countries compete with sailors aged between 19-24 years and will be sailed in the same one-design AC45 foiling catamarans the America’s Cup teams compete within the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series. These boats are the Formula 1’s of sailing and very physically demanding. During training and racing the crew use Squeezy energy gels, Enduro Booster hydration drinks and Endurance Athlete for fast recovery.

SAM MANSON

I am Sam Manson – 25 years of age, 169cm and around 70kgs. Originally from Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay, NZ, I spent the last 6 years with the RNZAF as an Aircraft Technician. I now live in Greymouth, South Island, NZ while I study a Diploma in Outdoor Instruction and Guiding.

Since 2011 I have been progressively developing myself into a competent and competitive athlete within Multisport racing and been competing in Adventure Team racing within both NZ and Overseas events.

LIZZIE ORCHARD

Hi ! I’m Lizzie and I compete Professionally for New Zealand in Xterra / Cross Triathlon. What’s that, you say? Cross Triathlon is swimming, mountain biking, and trail running – I love it because it’s an adventure into nature and I get to experience different terrains and cultures all around the World. The races are generally 2.5-3 hours but it really depends how hilly or muddy the course is! My background is running, having raced track, road races, and cross country. Currently I’m the New Zealand, Asia Pacific, and Asian Tour 2016 Xterra Champion, ranked 5th in the World for Xterra, and part of the Aloha Racing Team.

Having studied a Bachelor of Food Technology with Honours, I enjoy working part time in the Food industry – it keeps me out of trouble and helps fund my travels. Apart from Triathlon I also enjoy baking, shopping, movies, outdoor adventures, wine and coffee!!!

I use Leppin products daily as part of my training routine. Specifically Enduro Booster and Squeezy gels during training, and Endurance Athlete post exercise. There are a wide range of flavours available which I switch up for variety. NZ RUGBY

Leppin has had a long and proud association over many years being involved with Rugby in NZ across all levels. Used by players from social teams at grass roots schoolboy level through to use in regional Teams, Super Rugby, Sevens and World Cups.

Squeezy energy gels in particular have long been used as a part of strength and conditioning for training as well as often being used at half time as a key element during games.
